Am I too old to become a Fitness Professional?
Absolutely not.
There’s a common misconception that the fitness industry is a young person’s career. That simply isn’t true.
The average age of a trainee Fitness Professional on our courses is 44, and we regularly have learners in their 50s and 60s.
If it’s been a while since you’ve studied, you might be wondering whether you’ll find it difficult to learn again. Don’t worry. We simplify the learning, give you a clear structure to follow and support you throughout your course.
And your life experience can be a real advantage.
You may have developed strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and people skills through your career and life experiences — all of which can be incredibly valuable when working with clients.
Because becoming a Fitness Professional isn't just about learning the theory. It's about learning how to coach people.
So while you might see your age as a barrier, your experience could actually be one of your greatest strengths.
How much support do I get?
Support is what we’re known for.
When you enrol with Parallel Coaching, you’re never left to work things out on your own. Whether you’re studying a qualification, completing one of our specialist courses or using one of our online resources, we’re here to support you throughout.
Have a question? Call us, email us or send us a message. It really is that simple.
Many of our courses also include access to a Facebook Support Group, where you can ask questions, share your progress, connect with other learners and get the extra encouragement to keep moving forward.
We’re incredibly proud of the level of support we give our learners — and we’re confident in the learning experience we provide.
That’s why we offer our Happiness Guarantee.
Because getting qualified is important. Feeling supported, confident and happy throughout your learning journey matters too.
What happens if I fail my assessments?
Our focus is always on helping you pass first time.
You'll have access to clear learning resources, tutor support and guidance throughout your course, giving you the best possible preparation for your assessments.
But if you don't pass an assessment first time, don't panic. Depending on the assessment, you may be able to retake, reschedule or resubmit your work after receiving feedback and guidance from your tutor.
There are no additional fees for retakes or resubmissions.
We'll help you understand what needs to be improved, give you the support you need and make sure you know what to do before you attempt it again.
Our goal isn't simply to help you get through an assessment. It's to help you understand the learning, build your confidence and pass your qualification feeling ready to use what you've learned.
Is there a deadline to complete my training?
For our Focus Awards qualifications, you have two years from the date of enrolment to complete your qualification.
That gives you plenty of time to work through your learning around your job, family and other commitments, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Most of our learners complete their courses well within this timeframe, but we understand that life doesn't always go to plan. If you need to take a break, you have plenty of time to come back to your studies and continue.
All we ask is that you keep in touch with us along the way, so we can support you and help you stay on track to complete your qualification.
