Welcome to the Level 1 Suspension Trainer Instructor Course. This one-day CPD course will advance your coaching skills, whilst mastering key Suspension Trainer exercises.

Whilst you are here to master Suspension Training, you'll build your overall instructing confidence. You'll be able to transfer everything, to your existing modes of training and supercharge your overall client results.

You'll leave the day with 2 certificates allowing you to coach 121 and group based suspension training. This 1-day short CPD course explores 12 Suspension Training exercises including multiple variations and adaptations. Familiarize yourself with many methods of teaching each exercise, so you are prepared to instruct your clients with confidence.

Incorporating Suspension training into your FITPRO business is a smart move, enabling you to access strength training with limited equipment, anywhere! Grasp the concept of challenging your clients to overload and create progressive plans with confidence.

Physical Parallel Manual

You'll receive a physical course manual.

The Suspension training course manual covers the history of Suspension training, benefits for trainers and clients, different grips, session planning, and provides detailed instructions on over 12 Suspension training exercises with clear coaching points.

There is NO homestudy required for this short 1-day CPD course.

1 Day Face-To-Face

You'll join us for 1 day in our Milton Keynes Academy. You'll have 4 practical workshops where you'll go between the classroom and the gym.

There's very little sitting around with 90% of the day being practical based with a maximum of 8 learners.

The practial workshops are not a test of your own fitness or what you can do.

Rather it's a time to practice coaching and learn how to be an outstanding Suspension training instructor.

Below is an overview of what to expect:

Workshop 1: While many have incorporated Suspension Training into their own workouts for exercises like squats or a chest press, this workshop delves into the nuances of proper Suspension Training technique, set-up and coaching a library of lower body exercises.

In this workshop you explore coaching the:

Setting up the Suspension training kit

Squat and variations

Lunge and variations

Isolation Leg exercises

Cardioivascular low body exercises

Workshop 2: This workshop will focus on your skillset as an instructor, including tone of voice, teaching position, coaching cues and observations. These skills are refined whilst learning and practicing these upper body exercises:

Chest Pressing and horizontal pressing exercses

Row and horizontal pulling exercses

Shoulder Pressing and vertical pressing exercses

Workshop 3: After lunch we'll start with "how to plan a 121 and group based session". We'll explore key session variables to ensure all your future planing isn't time consuming or overwhelming. We'll finish Workshop 3 exploring:

Arm Exercisese and variations

More Cardiovascular exerciss

Group-based Training

Workshop 4: Here we'll deep dive into a short business section on how you might offer suspension training to clients, what a suspension training package/class might look like and how you'd price and implement it. We'll conclude the final session with learning:

Each workshop is formatively assessed... meaning you are assessed throughout the day as you coach 121 and in small groups. This is a 1-day CPD course, we do not want you stressing about a final practical assesment. We find this ongoing assessment of "Show, Practice, Assess" means you learn far more and leave the day confident and remembering everything.

Entry Requirements

To complete this course, you must already hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification or equivalent. This could be Level 2 exercise to music, aqua, or level 3 Yoga and Pilates.

If you don’t already have this, you can complete it alongside this qualification with our ''Level 2 Gym Instructor course'. Many of our learners complete the Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 1 Suspension Trainer course as a bundle package.

How you'll be assessed

In each workshop, your assessment is ongoing throughout the day, conducted formatively as you coach individuals and small groups. This one-day CPD course is designed to eliminate the stress of a final practical assessment.

Our approach of continuous assessment through "show, practice, assess" ensures a more effective learning experience, leaving you confident and retaining the knowledge gained throughout the day.

Do I need to be fit?

The Suspension instructor course is about you learning how to confidently plan and deliver kettlebell training to clients.

It is not a test of your own fitness or what you can lift.

The day is 85% practical with 4 workshops. 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.

Each workshop focuses on specific Suspension exercises and coaching techniques.

It is an intense day however, you don't need to be super fit or worry about your current fitness status.

We've had learners attend before with broken arms and many other aches, pains, and niggles.

It's a 1-day short course that gets you qualified to safely plan and deliver Suspension Training.

Please do not worry about fitness.

Am I too old?

You might think becoming a personal trainer is for the youngsters.

However, the average age of our learners is 42- 48.

On every course, they'll be a mix of ages.

They'll be a couple of younger ones in their late 20s and early 30s. Plus a few in their 50s and 60s.
